About the exhibition:

The retrospective exhibition is dedicated to Zlin designer and educator Professor Pavel Skarka (1942–2014). It brings us closer to his work from his early studies at a detached studio of shaping machines and tools VSUP of Zdenek Kovar, where after graduation he worked as assistants and in the 1990s years he led it himself. Back then already as an Industrial Design Studio. Professor Skarka was a significant educator at FMC TBU, founder of the Industrial Design Studio and in years 2002–2005 dean of the faculty. The exhibition will present his wide range of work from the design of small items of ergonomically designed hand tools, through packaging materials, to machine designs and transport vehicles. In his work, prof. Skarka was also devoted to products for kitchen equipment, utensils and packaging design, furniture and other interior elements. We could not forget designs of various measuring devices, printing woodworking, cutting and shoemaking machines as well. He was also involved in the design of transport vehicles – his name is associated with, for example, the design of the Skoda Felicia convertible, the Dandy motorcycle or motored scooters that have won numerous awards.

Curator: Vít Jakubíček

You can visit the exhibition from Monday to Thursday, 1 – 6 p.m.

Due to great interest, the exhibition has been extended until February 16, 2023!
