26. 9. – 29. 11. 2024 Exhibition DESIGN x HOBBY
Hobby market and DIY. The G18 university gallery presents DESIGN x HOBBY, an international traveling exhibition showcasing the results of the efforts of design students from three universities to raise the quality of DIY production to a new level. The DESIGN x HOBBY project features projects by young designers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, responding to the challenges of DIY design and presenting possible solutions through accessible yet functional and aesthetically appealing designs.
1. 10. | 4 PM Board games night
With the beginning of the academic year, the popular board game night we organize in cooperation with Q Prostor Zlín is back. We will meet over game boards and cards on the first Tuesday of every month, starting on October 1 at 4 pm. A selection of board games will be provided, but we’d love it if you bring your favorites to show us.

Reimagining Spaces: creative placemaking for a just and regenerative future
Have you ever wondered how our surroundings affect our lives? During the lecture, together with Timea Szőke, we will look at how we can use small creative interventions to transform not only the public space and the community around us into a place where we feel happier and safer.
Tímea Szőke is an urban planner and researcher specializing in creative placemaking. She is currently a PhD student at the International University of Catalonia.

23. 10. | 6 PM Let’s Talk Arts! – Julienne Lorz
Moving Contexts: Curating Contemporary Art at Haus der Kunst in Munich and Gropius Bau in Berlin
How do we decide what kind of art we see in galleries, and how does the history and architecture of these places influence this? Julienne Lorz, former chief curator of Haus der Kunst in Munich and Gropius Bau in Berlin, will reveal the behind-the-scenes of these prestigious art institutions in her lecture. Among other things, Lorz will also present her unusual professional story of her transition from dancer to curator.
Julienne Lorz is a professor in the Extended Museum Studies master’s program at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, which is dedicated to exploring and expanding the concept of the museum.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. For the third year in a row, the G18 gallery will create a space where you don’t have to be scared. This time, Queer Halloween will start at 4 PM, as always, a competition for the best mask, a knowledge queez and a lot of creative programs await you. The program is English friendly.
Entrance to all programs in the G18 gallery is free for everyone.
