18. – 19. 6. 2024 Zine making workshops (for school groups)
As one of the last participatory workshops of the G18 EduLab project, we prepared (queer) zine production workshops for school groups of high school students in cooperation with a graphic studio from Prague – PaperCanDance. In this way, the students will learn to visually formulate their opinions and think about publications as an opinion medium.
18. 6. 2024, 5 PM Zine making workshop (for the public)
The queer zine workshop led by the girls from the graphic studio PaperCanDance will also be available to the public on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 5 PM. Entrance to the workshop is free, the number of places is limited and therefore advance registration via the registration form is required. Material for making zines will be available on site, it is possible to bring your own. Come and put your opinions, troubles, or queer joy on paper!
About PaperCanDance
PaperCanDance is an independent risographic and graphic studio based in Vršovice, Prague. It focuses on printing for local artists, graphic studios, galleries and non-profit organizations. They often organize collective workshops that are a place for collaboration, self-expression and self-development. In today’s digital age, when we are saturated with information and constantly scrolling posts, it is important for them to create a platform where people can meet, inspire each other and educate themselves culturally.
19. 6. 2024, 7 PM Chris Conde & Myles Bullen – HAW Zlin
Together with the independent group HAW gigs, we have planned another concert for you in June, this time by the American duo Chris Conde and Myles Bullen. Chris Conde is a queer musician who combines classic hip hop, indie rock and experimental art punk in his music. Myles Bullen is a ukulele rapper and poet from Portland. Oposmlouva, rap performers from Uherské Hradiště, will also perform as support. Entrance fee for students is 200 CZK, classic 300 CZK. You can follow the news on the Facebook event.
25. 6. 2024, 6 PM Opening of the Exhibition Theses 24
The opening of the Theses 24 exhibition is being exceptionally held outside the G18 gallery this year, at one of the three exhibition locations – the TBU Rectorate (building U13, nám. T. G. Masaryka 5555, Zlín). The opening is followed by an afterparty in the courtyard of the U4 building (University 2431, Zlín), where the Hello Marcel concert will take place. Admission to the concert is free for everyone, current information can be found on the Facebook event.
26. 6. – 18. 7. 2024 Exhibition Theses 24
The already traditional exhibition of diploma theses of students of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications is being held this year for the first time at three locations – the TBU rectorate, the Collective House and the G18 gallery. In our gallery, you will find works from the Digital Design, Game Design and Product Design studios. The exhibition will be open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM, from 26. 6. to 18. 7., including weekends and holidays. Entry to the exhibition is free.
