PROGRAM AT G18 GALLERY | April 2023 Join us to see what’s coming up this month in the gallery! TWO IN ONE EXHIBITION – until 20 April 2023 The exhibition will present the activities of two progressive studios of the Department of Applied Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava – the Glass Studio, led by Patrik Ill, and the S+M+L_XL – KOV A ŠPERK Studio, led by Karol Weisslechner. You can visit the exhibition until 20 April 2023, every Monday to Thursday from 1 to 6 PM, admission to the gallery is free for all. 4. 4. – Theatrical performance Silmarillion – Free Theatre Tuesday 4 April will be marked by theatre in the gallery. For the first time, the Zlin-based alternative theatre group Volné divadlo will present itself here. We will present a theatrical production called Silmarillion, a fantasy narrative about the creation of Tolkien’s Arda, Middle-earth and the subsequent war. The performance will start at 7pm and will last 70 minutes, admission is voluntary. Build it UP! – series of workshops In collaboration with the UPPER Centre for Creative Industries and Entrepreneurship, we have prepared the Build it UP! programme, a series of five workshops during the summer semester, which will help you learn how to navigate the world of entrepreneurship in a simple way. For the third workshop on NFT, art and cryptocurrencies, you will be guided by Gabriela Borutová and Jan Zibner from Artiffine.com. Ideamaker Michal Pastier will introduce you to branding. The event is free for everyone, but if you want to be sure of your place, please register in advance at: upper@utb.cz. In April, we have two lectures coming up: 17. 4.  – Jewellery workshop This full-day workshop will teach you the skills needed to create original jewellery and work with precious metals. The workshop is designed for complete beginners and advanced jewelry makers. Registration is required for the workshop and capacity is limited. The registration fee and more detailed information about the workshop will be available soon on our social media. More information can be found here. 19. 4.  – Board games Are you a fan of classic board games like Rain and Don’t Be Angry or do you prefer strategic story games? You can compare your strengths at our gallery, where together with the Q Prostor Zlín association we are organizing an evening of board games. Admission is free for everyone. We look forward to seeing you on 19 April from 4 PM. Link to the Facebook event. 24.–28. 4.  – Fashion Revolution Week For fashion enthusiasts, we have prepared a week-long programme dedicated to sustainable fashion as part of the international Fashion Revolution Week. Lectures, workshops and film screenings await you. During the whole week, the Fashion Design Studio from FMK UTB in Zlin will also present its local creations.
