Martina Michelova: Inclusive university museums

27. 11. 2022

Talking about art and museums? It’s never enough. Throw in inclusion and audience engagement, and you have the final lecture in the Let’s Talk Arts! series this semester right in front of you. This time we will meet with Martina Michelova, a museum professional, on Friday, December 2, at 1:00 p.m. at our G18 gallery.

Martina Michel

Martina Michelova is from Liberec, Czech Republic and has been living in the US for the last 19 years. She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Park University and is currently working towards her master’s degree in Museum Studies at Johns Hopkins. Martina is the Guest Services supervisor at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art at Johnson County Community College.

 Inclusive university museums

How are university galleries and museums fostering a place of inclusion and collaboration? What are some shared initiatives in audience engagement in the international art community? We will have an open discussion about the impacts of galleries on building art appreciation among students and the public and how it influences inclusion, cultural identity, and the importance of creating partnerships with our communities.
